Sip + Sourdough

Whether you're new to bread-making or already familiar with the craft, this workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly.

“Don’t teach,” they said… countless times actually as I told people what I wanted to do when I grew up.

I’m sure glad I didn’t listen, and chose to hear the voice of the ONE who made my blueprint. I left a traditional classroom setting in 2019 to chase my purpose, but ended up finding Jesus first.

How funny that it all came back around in ways I could have never imagined, as I have now joined my passion for teaching with craft of sourdough. This skillset has brought out a level of femininity that I did not know was inside of me. It took five years outside of the traditional classroom to step into a teaching environment that I could have never created on my own, which is a room full of women ready to learn and challenge themselves in a new skillset, ready to succeed, but willing to fail first.

In this class we go step by step through the entire sourdough process, with a huge emphasis on creating and caring for a starter. We will be covering the five stages of sourdough making, such as:

  1. Creating + feeding the starter through busy schedules (High Emphasis)

  2. Adding ingredients + autolyse

  3. Folding + fermentation

  4. Shaping + cold proofing

  5. Scoring + baking

The goal with this class is to show you how to bring sourdough bread making into your home by making the process simple, sustainable, and savory.  No need to bring anything to this class, just come, take notes, and ask any questions you have! In your class, you will receive a copy of my FREE Sourdough Guide to take notes on as well as a starter to take home!

What to expect..

Meet the host of the event.

Ashley is on a mission to help others restore back to a slower, more natural way of living. She recently was inspired on a trip to Guatemala as she observed the joys in the slowness of life. Coming out of a tougher season, she found joy in the hobby of bread making as she became aware of how much she WASN'T aware of the ingredients in the bread she was buying from the store.

With that information, she took it upon herself to learn more about making sourdough. It brought a newer, slower way of living that she had not yet experienced, making it so fulfilling to enjoy and serve others. Now she creates her own sourdough recipes, everything from bagels to cinnamon rolls to pretzels, and she loves teaching others how to begin their journey.

Here is one of the tutorial videos that come with the guide! This guide is always being added to with new information and constant value.

Take a brief look into the Ultimate Sourdough Guide!

I will be offering Starter Kits to purchase during your class, which will come with a shaping basket and towel + a scoring blade, as well as access to my Ultimate Sourdough Guide with tutorial videos, a bank of Frequently Asked Questions, and a growing amount of discard recipes. I am ALWAYS adding and updating this guide, so you will get continuous updates!
